Looking for an easy way to earn a little extra cash? Well, I have an idea for you. CSL Plasma, located at 2650 North Avenue, is a great option. You can sell your plasma. Plasma donations are used to make medications for those with cancer, leukemia, and other illnesses.
You only need a few things to donate. A picture identification, preferably a state issued driver’s license or a similar type of identification card, your social security card, and proof of residency.
For students who are currently living in the campus dormitories, you can get proof of residence from the Residence Life office or by seeing your Resident Aide for assistance.

Once you have all that, you can go down to CSL to become a donor. Just to let you know, you can expect to be there anywhere between three to five hours for your first visit. After that, you are generally done within an hour or so.
For new donors, you can receive $50 for your first five visits. Keep in mind that you must do those donations within 45 days. After those first five visits, your monetary payout will be based upon your weight.
In order to donate, you must weigh at least 110 pounds. And if you recently received any tattoos, tattoo touchups, or any kind of ear or body piercings, you will not be able to donate. You must be at least 18 years old to donate.
Donating plasma is similar to donating blood. The main difference is that in plasma donations, your red blood cells are returned to you. It is only the plasma, the watery fluid of the blood, that ends up being donated.
Once you have been set up as a donor, you are eligible to donate twice in a seven day period. Those two donations must have at least one day in between. And you can make around $300 per month as a regular donor.
CSL is open 7 days a week from 6 am – 8 pm. For more information you can contact their office at (970) 233-7947.
