Starting Sept. 21, there will be another parents weekend at CMU. It kicks off on Friday with a President’s list reception in the Meyer Ballroom at 3 p.m. Immediately following this there will be a welcoming reception at The Point, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., there will be two sporting events: men’s soccer vs Colorado Christian University at Walker Field, or volleyball verses Chadron State College in the Brownson Area.
On Saturday, the day starts early with a Parents’ Coffee with President Tim Foster at 7:30 a.m. at Starbucks in the UC. At 8:30 this will be followed by a Parents’ Success Workshop in UC 213. For the adventurous families there is also an Outdoor Program hike on Saturday morning, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
At 11 a.m., the Football Tailgate will start at Stocker Stadium, where the CMU Football verses Chadron State College game will start at 1 p.m. At the Maverick Pavilion, the 3v3 intramural basketball tournament starts at 12 p.m. At 7 p.m. there will be a CMU Volleyball verses MSU Denver game in the Brownson Arena.
In the evening, the day will be closed off by a Grand Valley Wine Festival which supports the CMU Athletics Department. It starts at 6 p.m. at Meyer Ballroom, UC, and will be finished around 9 p.m.
The weekend will end on Sunday with a brunch in the Dining Hall of the UC from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Before the parents leave, they can support the Mavericks for men’s soccer versus MSU Denver.
