As the school year begins, many new students may be wondering where Colorado Mesa University stands when it comes to drinking alcohol.
The possession and use of alcohol are banned everywhere on campus, with the exception of the Point, located in the University Center.
Certain pre-approved events designated by the university administration may also allow for the consumption of alcoholic products.
The campus-wide ban on alcohol is in effect regardless of whether one is over the legal drinking age of twenty-one.
If caught breaking the alcohol restrictions, one can expect punishments ranging from a formal warning to a fine, or even probation or removal from the residence halls.
More detailed information on the campus drinking policy can be found at www.coloradomesa.edu, in the Maverick Guide located within the Student Services tab of University Life.
