An unidentified female reportedly suffered a seizure and ran through a stoplight at 12th and Elm at around 11:50 a.m. Monday which resulted in her vehicle running through the Albers Hall sign and smashing into a parked car in the admissions parking lot.
“The driver had what looked like a seizure at the light and ran through the intersection, woke up before hitting the mailboxes and then blacked out again before ramming into the parked car.” said Destine McFarland, who witnessed the incident while walking towards the corner.
Officer John Ferguson confirmed McFarland’s statement but would not give any other information other than the woman was conscious and on the way to the hospital.
Amanda Nicksic, who was in her office in Albers Hall, said she heard the accident and proceeded to run out to help.
“The driver was seizing, her lips were blue and was not breathing” Nicksic said. “I gave her chest compressions in her seat until she spit up and began breathing and the police arrived.”
According to police the only damage was to the Albers Hall sign and the parked car.
