With parts of our country partly or completely shut down due to the novel coronavirus, there is not much to do this winter other than binge-watch shows.
One of the best shows to binge watch is “The Good Place,” which stars Kristen Bell in a fantasy comedy, as she explores the afterlife. “The Good Place” can be viewed on Netflix. While the episodes are only 22 minutes long, they are packed with comedy and suck in the audience with ease. The creator of “The Good Place,” Michael Schur, produced and wrote “The Office,” co-created “Parks and Recreation,” and co-created “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
“The Mandalorian” is another great show, especially for Star Wars lovers who are craving more. This show is set before the original trilogy and includes baby Yoda, or Grogu, a fan favorite that captured everyone’s heart in 2019 when the series first aired on Disney+. Even if you don’t like Star Wars, how can you resist baby Yoda with his big eyes and ears and that fuzzy head?
For those who like drama and medical shows, “Grey’s Anatomy” is a perfect fit and can be viewed on Netflix and Hulu. With 17 seasons comprising a total of 317 episodes and over 200 hours of runtime, “Grey’s Anatomy” makes the perfect binge-watching show and should keep audiences busy for a while. Unfortunately for those of us who have made it through the latest episode in season 17, it appears that we will have to delay our gratification until episodes return March 4 of this year.
A great crime show to watch is “Criminal Minds,” which can be viewed on Netflix and Hulu. This series follows a Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) from the Federal Bureau of Investigations who uses profiling to catch criminals. As the show progresses, each member of the team becomes part of a family and synchronized unit.
“Elementary” is a modern-day spinoff of the original 1887 Sherlock Holmes novel and a great mystery series that keeps the audience on their toes. Sherlock Holmes is a recovering addict that works as a consultant for the New York Police Department (NYPD) and Joan Watson is his sober companion. This duo works together with the NYPD to solve sometimes seemingly accidental crimes. This thrilling series can be viewed on Hulu.
Each one of these shows is quite unique, enthralling and worthy of being binge-watched without regret.
