“We are a community of women that grows together, serves together, learns together and does life together while chasing the heart of God,” Delight team leader, Jessica Joy Pastorello said. “Our mission is to invite college women into Christ-centered community that fosters vulnerability and transforms stories.”

New to Colorado Mesa University this year is the Delight Club. Pastorello started the group at CMU this fall.

“I was going through a huge transition from changing from a dance major to a business entrepreneurship major and was feeling very overwhelmed with all the change and needs and I always rant to God to find that common ground,” Pastorello said.

She found the Delight group on Instagram and applied to find a group near her. The Delight Headquarters is in Nashville, Tennessee and she soon received a Delight leadership packet.

“I was so thrown off and not understanding what the heck I got myself into,” Pastorello said. “But, I ran with it and trusted God. I had always identified myself as a dancer, and God asked me to step away from that and that he had something bigger and better and long behold it was this ministry. I still cannot believe it.”

The club had a kick off party on Sept. 6. Pastorello explained that every Delight ministry across the U.S. has a party where they get together, chat, eat donuts, take fun photos and learn about what Delight has to offer.

“We had many girls show up and it was a complete success,” Pastorello said. “My hopes and dreams for this ministry truly doesn’t matter, I trust that my hopes and dreams are nothing compared to what Christ has in store for this group.”

The club has a team of five women with Madison Bejadhar, spiritual coordinator, Tilly Leeder, worship coordinator, Destiny Martinez, community and service coordinator, Kacie Hennessy, treasurer and Lexy Carnesi-Waugh, delight dates and on-campus event coordinator.

“Myself, along with my amazing leadership team, will continue to run to God’s call and I have all the faith that the ministry will flourish into nothing but Gods will and that is all any human can ask for,” Pastorello said.

Delight meets on Tuesdays in Escalante Hall room 325 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

“We will start selling our books very soon with our curriculum in it, and we hope to see all women there who’s on fire for the Lord, do not know who he is or just need a community of women who will care and love them,” Pastorello said.

“Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. -Proverbs 37:4,” Pastorello said.
