The Dash makes it easier for CMU students to reach the town

This is not an advertisement! A brand-new bus system, The Dash, is a local shuttle that offers free rides Thursday through Saturday from 4:15 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. The Dash has routes that go downtown, that go to the airport and that go to the Colorado Mesa University (CMU) campus.

Grand Junction offers experiences for students that can enhance their college career, both academically and socially. The Dash allows students to participate in the community and close the gap between Grand Junction and CMU – and it also helps prevent drunk driving by offering free transportation during evening events.

CMU students can catch a ride with The Dash to connect them with upcoming downtown events, such as the farmers’ market, art gallery showcases and music performances. Groups of friends can ride together to avoid being separated in crowds and taking the bus saves time and money by avoiding the hassle of parking downtown. Taking public transportation is also environmentally friendly.

The Dash can not only connect CMU students to downtown hubs and the airport, but it can also bring students from one area of downtown to another, making it easier to visit different events without having to walk. The Dash is also brand-new this year, making it a fresh new way to ride.

As Grand Junction continues to grow and expand, more events and experiences are available. CMU students can make memories of their time in Grand Junction by putting together groups of friends to go eat at downtown restaurants, shop at local venues and explore cultural icons of the community. Especially for incoming students, visiting community events can be essential for building a social circle and bonding with friends.

Don’t fall into a rut of idleness – take advantage of a free service and take charge of your university experience to see what valuable cultural experiences Grand Junction has to offer. Students can catch The Dash in front of Albers Hall or find more information at DashGJ.com.
