Ginuwine and Baby Bash will be performing for the annual Spring Concert.
The event will be held on April 30 on the Grand Mesa Field. Gates will open at 5:00 pm and the concert will start at 7:00 pm. Entry is free with a MavCard. The performers were announced at the Mr. Mav competition held by the Programming Activities Council (PAC).
This concert is following the Fall concert which featured the band Surfaces. It is unusual to have two concerts in the same school year, but the double feature occurred because of previously canceled events due to COVID.
“The hardest part of planning the Spring concert is […] to find an artist that is as well known as the student’s want while staying in budget. In the past we have sent out polls to determine the genre that students would like to see,” Assistant Director of Student Life Haley Wiedeman said.
Ginuwine is an R&B artist who is best known for his hit “Pony” which was released in 2014. Since then, he has collaborated with Britany Spears to make “Toxic Pony”, which is a mix of the two popular songs. He has also appeared in films such as “Chocolate City.”
Baby Bash is a singer and rapper that has been performing since 1995. His hit “Suga Suga” can be found on Spotify with 326 million monthly listeners. Other notable songs from Baby Bash include “Cyclone”, “Baby, I’m Back” and “Light Up Light Up.”
“We are always looking for volunteers for the concert, and [Programming Activities Council] PAC in general,” Wiedeman said.

“I think that being able to go back to a place where the students who didn’t originally get the normal college experience are being able to experience that; that is huge to keep morale up,” Wiedeman said.
