Sexy lesbians and dirty internet porn

Since coming out to my friends and family, I’ve turned into a guru of sorts for all questions pertaining to the LGBT community, or at least they think so. They’ll ask me questions about my personal life or things about the general LGBT community as if I was the voice of all the gay people. Sadly, I am not.

People frequently ask me questions about how sex works for gay people as if they can’t just use their imagination. They’ll ask who wears the strap-on or if it is really even sex without a penis. These are both very offensive questions; please never ask a woman who likes women this, ever.

My personal favorite is when people ask me if “scissoring” is real. For those who don’t know what that is, Google it. For those who do know and are too wondering if this is real, it is not, like at all. Scissoring is a made up sexual position to highlight the sensuality of two women for the porn industry.

Anytime there are two women in a porno, I can almost guarantee that they’re probably not actual lesbians and that anything they are doing to each other is not causing any sort of pleasure. It all looks incredibly fake and scripted just to get the right shot. Even the moans are fake. Seriously, people, that stuff isn’t real.

Now a good question to ask is, “Why are these things happening if that’s not real?” Why would you inaccurately depict a sexual relationship between two women? The answer lies with straight men.

According to PornHub, “lesbian” is the number one porn related search in 30 states. Coming in second place was “stepmom’ and “stepsister” in a combined 10 states. Some other top results for states include “cartoon,” “MILF” and “ebony.”

This data shows that 60 percent of the United States has a weird fetish for lesbians. That blows my mind. In places where the LGBT community is constantly discriminated against, such as Alabama or Indiana, the number one porn search is “lesbian.”

So you’re telling me that there are people who despise the LGBT community, but they still want to see two women get it on? Am I the only person who finds this a little weird?

I don’t understand how a group of people who are constantly discriminated against can be fetishized in such a national way. The same goes for gay males. Gay male porn is a big hit amongst straight women, certainly not at the same scale as lesbians, but still to an extent.

It’s all very frustrating from the perspective of the LGBT community. I don’t care that there is gay porn or lesbian porn. I care that people discriminate against us but still think it’s hot when two women kiss.

It’s almost as if some people think the only purpose of two women being intimate is to entertain the male population. But here’s the thing, I like kissing girls and that has nothing to do with attention or entertainment for me, and it never will.

If you’re an individual who enjoys watching porn, cool.  If you watch lesbian or gay porn, that’s cool too. However, if you watch lesbian porn and don’t respect the actual LGBT community, you can screw right off. LGBT community members are way more than just sex objects for your entertainment.
