As the end of the semester approaches, the Programming Activities Council (PAC),   is getting ready for the dawning of a new semester. PAC has been working tirelessly to host countless events for students these last few months, and they are preparing for an even busier and more exciting spring.

PAC’s “Welcome Week” drew in mass amounts of students, with hundreds showing up for bag giveaways, record painting events and over 2,000 students showing up to the Glow Party. Their “Homecoming Week” was equally as successful, with countless students attending the live hypnotist event and hundreds showing up to the bonfire and other activities.

As the semester closes out, PAC is getting ready to host one final event. As we are nearing finals week, a stress relief event is going to be held on Dec. 7 at 3 p.m. in Dominguez Hall 110. PAC’s hope is that students will have time to socialize and decompress as they prepare for final exams and assignments.

Looking toward the Spring semester, PAC is excited to host a myriad of events that students can look forward to.

Starting out the Spring semester, PAC is hosting another Welcome Week that will get students ready for their upcoming classes. While the events are still being planned, PAC assures students that Welcome Week will be another lively and fun set of activities for students to look forward to.

PAC is also gearing up for its annual concert, which will happen sometime in April. While the artists attending are not yet solidified, PAC assures students that it will be an exciting lineup.

The council is going to spend this upcoming semester experimenting with several new events and collaborations.

PAC chairperson Andrew Davis said that the organization is “really hoping to do some more collaboration events” and stated that they have “some plans with [Associated Student Government] within the cabinet.”

Finally, Davis stated that PAC is “looking to get more volunteers and members,” and went on to say that PAC hopes to become “more student-run.” He hopes the upcoming semester will see new volunteers and members that will help lead PAC into a semester of new ideas, new activities, and continuous student input.

His vision is that PAC will be able to facilitate events that stem from students’ ideas and will hopefully get “more involvement and be able to do more events” as we enter this new semester.
