Juciy J will headline the CMU annual spring concert on May 4. Drake Bell and Rip Michaels will be the opening acts. This was announced by the Programming Activities Council (PAC) at pub night.

Juicy J is a hip-hop rapper, producer, and songwriter based in Tennessee. Drake Bell was on the TV show Drake and Josh, and he is a touring pop rock and rock-and-roll musician, playing guitar and vocals. Rip Michaels is a comedian and an actor, known from the TV show Wild ‘n Out, and will serve as a bridge between the two acts.

Hosted for CMU students and the general public, doors open at 5 p.m. for the outdoor concert, while the show itself starts at 7 p.m. Concessions and a beer garden will be available as well.

“I think that we will have a little something that anyone can enjoy and we have been working hard to make it a success,” PAC Chair Justin Forrest said. “It should be a lot of fun seeing the blends of different artists, and I am looking forward to seeing the turn out this year.”

PAC brought in Bell and Juicy J because of their different musical styles.“We changed up the headliner so that the concert as a whole had a more broad appeal,” Forrest said.“RIP Michaels will do a DJ and rap battle set that brings energy to the crowd and gets them ready for the opener.”

The concert is free for CMU students with a valid MavCard, while tickets cost $25 for the general public.
