Colorado Mesa University (CMU) had four players with double-digit scoring performances, and senior guard Tommy Nuno nearly had a double-double as he had 14 points and nine assists along with six rebounds to help lead the Mavericks to a victory over Chadron State College (CSC).

In the first half, the Mavericks were the aggressors early as they tried to take the momentum and run away with the game, and CMU’s bench helped them try to break away from CSC with 26 points compared to the Eagles 13 bench points. Peterson helped the Mavericks get the 41-35 halftime lead by hitting four of his six three-pointers in the first half.

CMU kept the Eagles at bay in the second half as their smallest lead of the half was three-points and when their lead was cut to three, they immediately got it back up to five or more points. Georgie Dancer and Nuno both had nine points in the second half to keep the Mavericks on top and to stay perfect at home in Brownson Arena.
