The Colorado Mesa University (CMU) Theatre Department will open the 2019-2020 season on Thursday, Sept. 19 with the musical comedy “First Date.”

The musical is part of the Theatre and Dance season celebrating the 50th anniversary of the construction of the Moss Performing Arts Center. According to a CMU news release from Public Relations Director David Ludlam, the musical will feature a large cast of characters that follow the story of a blind date.

“When blind date newbie Aaron is set up with serial-dater Casey, a casual drink at a busy New York restaurant turns into a hilarious high-stakes dinner,” the release said.

“First Date” will open Sept. 19 and run for two weekends in Robinson Theatre at the Moss Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $22 for adults, $18 for seniors, faculty and staff and $8 for students.
