Colorado Mesa University Theater is presenting the SpongeBob Musical in arrangement with Concord Theatricals, an independent theatrical company. The SpongeBob Musical is an adaptation of Nickelodeon’s beloved Spongebob Squarepants.
The SpongeBob Musical was originally displayed at Broadway to great critical acclaim. It won the 2018 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical and also the 2018 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Broadway Musical.
Bikini Bottom is overtaken with chaos and panic when news breaks of a looming volcanic disruption by nearby Mt. Humongous. All have given up hope, besides SpongeBob, who is on a quest to prove that he is more than “just a sponge” and to save Bikini Bottom.
The musical will feature original songs by Aerosmith, Panic! At the Disco, David Bowie, and many others. Come have a laugh and see how the power of optimism and humor competes against the threat of annihilation!
The show will premiere this Thursday, March 3, and will show the following Friday and Saturday at Robinson Theater. The second week of showings starts Thursday, March 10, and conclude on Saturday, March 12
