The BANFF Centre Mountain Film Festival is presenting at Avalon Theatre Feb. 25 and 26.

There will be two different lineups for each of the nights. Friday features the festival’s “Maple” lineup while Saturday features the “Larch” lineup.

The BANFF Film Festival is one of the largest and most renowned mountain festivals in the world, and has been ongoing since 1986. A mountain festival is a presentation and celebration of films and documentaries about mountain life and culture.

“The BANFF Film Festival is a world renowned festival for outdoor/adventure films. The Avalon features two days of film, which are hand-picked by BANFF for the traveling world tour,” Assistant Professor of Art Evan Curtis said.

The festival brings viewers to the sublime and remote landscapes of the Canadian Rockies. Films are chosen from over 400 entries, and the best are selected to be viewed worldwide.

According to the Grand Junction Convention Center, funding from tickets will help support Colorado Canyons Association, Colorado Mesa University International Student Program, Colorado National Monument Association and Western Colorado Conservation Corps.

Tickets can be found on the Avalon Theatre website at www.avalontheatregj.com. Masks will be required per the Grand Junction Rotary Club.
