If you’re anything like me, when I heard there was going to be a second carnival this semester, I made sure not to get my hopes up.
In the midst of its second semester, Colorado Mesa University (CMU) announced a carnival full of fun for all; yet, when I arrived at the indoor COVID-19 cesspool of mediocre activities, I found myself wildly disappointed.
When I found myself walking into the first genuine carnival I had seen in a while, under the clear blue Colorado sky and warm sun, I already knew The Associated Student Government (ASG) had exceeded my expectations.
Though it may have not been the most sanitary activity in the world, I personally had a field day on a variety of bouncy activities, from a bouncy racecourse to a bouncy castle and even a bouncy boxing ring.
Scraping my knees by throwing myself across the nylon floors as I tried to beat my friends sent me right back into the fourth grade in the best ways possible.
In conjunction with the variety of attractions, ASG’s decision to have a food truck and coffee truck is such an unexpectedly great addition. The tacos and chai teas were even a lovely replacement for the classic cotton candy and popcorn.
Though I only spent a couple of hours at the carnival, the seamlessly endless activities made me feel as if I could have stayed for the entire four hours and had a complete ball.
All I have to say is ASG deserves a round of applause for redeeming CMU’s carnivals after the previous falter.
