Holiday concoctions

1955

The Holiday season is upon us. Want to spice up your celebrations? Why not try something new with creating different Holiday Drinks.

This post does contain alcoholic drink ideas so 21+.

Basic and non-creative drinks, but still yummy:

  • Eggnog –  for sitting around the fire in pajama sets. Both Non-alcoholic or alcoholic.
  • Champagne – classic New Years Eve drink.
  • Water – you need it to survive.
  • Milk – what will you drink with cookies? Or what will Santa drink? Have to have milk.
  • Apple cider – non-alcoholic or alcoholic, but I can tell you that taking a warm thermos of apple cider with some caramel and whipped cream is fantastic after a day of skiing.

Those Holiday drinks are alright, but what about some that are a bit more creative?

Delish.com has some great recipes to try. From peppermint bark mimosas to Gingerbread Eggnog White Russians. My favorites to try this holiday season are:

  • “Peppermint Bark Mimosas”: Not only do you have a mimosa, but the recipe includes a full candy cane with a chocolate rim around the glass and crushed candy canes. What could be better than chocolate, sugar and mimosas?
  • “Jingle Juice”: it includes three of my favorite ingredients: red Moscato, prosecco and apple juice. Along with these ingredients you have vodka, mint leaves, cranberries, sugar and limes.
  • “Hot Buttered Rum”: Apple cider and rum are the two main ingredients, but what is the true winner of this drink is the extra ingredients that include: brown sugar, cinnamon, butter and VANILLA ICE CREAM! Give me a drink with vanilla ice cream and I will be happy.
  • “Slow-Cooker Mulled Wine”: includes red wine and apple cider. I would never of thought to pair the two together. I also have never thought of putting drink ingredients into a slow cooker. I am most curious about this drink because the ingredients include oranges, cranberries, cinnamon sticks and star anise.

Those are my top choices from online, but I have decided to create my own.

WARNING: these ideas are completely made up by writer and they could be disgusting.

  • The Chocolate Eggsty: Hot chocolate with marshmallows, but instead of water you use Eggnog. The best Eggnog is spiked and you have to add a hint of vanilla extract because it’s yummy. Top it off with some whipped cream and sprinkles or chocolate flakes.
  • Mrs. Clause’s Spritzer: you need 4 ingredients – Gatorade (red), sprite, red sugar rum and vodka. Throw it all together and toss it in a martini glass for extra class. Add some white sugar on top and a few cherries.
  • The Icicle: you need UV blue vodka, prosecco, sugar and a tumbler. Coat the top in sugar and mix UV blue vodka and prosecco in the glass.
  • Ho, Ho, Ho: red jello with strawberry vodka. Basically just jello shots, but you call them ho ho ho ‘s to make it feel more festive.
