At around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, a female bicyclist was struck at the Mesa Avenue crosswalk while riding eastbound across 12th Street.
The woman was transported from the scene by ambulance and is expected to have no serious injuries according to Grand Junction Police Department spokesperson Heidi Davidson.
Two Colorado Mesa University students were struck at the same crosswalk under similar circumstances last semester during a nearly two-week period. The woman was not a CMU student.
The adult male driver of the vehicle, a black SUV heading north on 12th Street, was cited for reckless driving, according to Davidson.

Previous bicyclists have been cited before as well as it is illegal to ride a bike across the crosswalk without dismounting. The woman was not cited in this instance.
Some called for signs at the crosswalks notifying of such a requirement.
Such signs were installed in early November 2017 on all 12th Street campus crosswalks.
Updated at 12:51 p.m.: GJPD confirmed the bicyclist was not a student.
