University Point is a new building across from campus on North Avenue that offers luxury student housing. The new off-campus building is not affiliated with CMU housing, but is instead associated with Copper Creek Developer, who helps build neighborhoods throughout Grand Junction.
University Point has four apartment buildings, each consisting of either three or four suites. Each suite includes its own bathroom, and every apartment has a laundry facility with no extra charge for use of the facilities.
The apartments were designed with college students in mind. Students will benefit with the convenience of campus within a walking distance, but without the hassles of living on campus.
“We do focus on students, but if there are other individuals that aren’t students, we don’t turn them away,” said Naomi Colman, property manager.
The price for one suite is $695 per month, with a feature called “all-inclusive” rent, meaning all costs are included in the price of rent. Heat, electric, water, sewer, internet, cable TV, parking and laundry are all incorporated in the $695 per month cost.
One suite on site is considered a double room, meaning it is a shared suite for two people. The price of the double room is $395 per person.
All units come with stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, including a microwave, stove, dishwasher and refrigerator. The apartments are furnished based on how much and what furniture the individual needs. Additional furniture can be provided in the suites depending on need.
“It’s the perfect mix between living on campus and having your own place, being that building maintenance and yard is taken care of,” said Colman.
