With the school year starting, I will soon find myself cooped up in a coffee shop, surrounded by papers, with a cup of coffee nestled in my hands. Thankfully, Grand Junction is home to some incredible places to try when a craving for coffee gets the best of you, and I know the perfect one.
On the corner of 12th St and Bookcliff Ave resides a cute little coffee shop called Four Winds Coffee and Tea, and it is one of my favorite places to sit down and knock out assignments. The environment is cozy, yet lively, and it so happens to be my go-to spot after a long day of working on campus. With how busy my schedule is this year, trust me when I say I will need the occasional getaway.
Four Winds, being the cozy breakfast haven that it is, provides for me a safe, homey place to bury myself in work and use my brief bursts of concentration in a meaningful way. Although, that could be due to their incredible drinks and the staff’s willingness to add extra shots of espresso to everything I order.
They have a vast variety of drinks and flavored syrups at their disposal, and the staff are incredibly talented, capable of making almost any drink you ask for. If you’re looking for anything from teas, coffees, smoothies and italian sodas, Four Winds has got you covered.
A drink that they are locally known for is their chai latte, and I LOVE chai lattes. Not just any will suffice. Let me just say it now, I have been spoiled with how good these are.
Four Winds also has a number of delicious food items, including wraps, pastries and salads for you to nibble on while you work. This includes sweet crepes that you can customize yourself for a decent price, my personal favorite crepe being made with strawberries and Nutella. These items are only just a fraction of what they have to offer, as they have dozens of other delicious things on both their seasonal and regular menus.
For those with any dietary restrictions such as myself, fret not, as Four Winds Coffee and Tea also has a number of gluten free, lactose free and vegan options for their drinks and pastries.
Their staff have been nothing but welcoming, warm and kind, always willing to help make the perfect drink just for you. It is obvious that a lot of love and pride goes into what they make, which keeps me coming back every time I get the coffee itch. So if you feel like you need a nice cozy place to sit down and focus on work, or if you need to take some relaxation time and treat yourself, then Four Winds Coffee and Tea is the place just for you.
