Gwyneth Elliott, Editor-in-Chief
My name is Gwyneth Elliott and I have been a part of the Criterion for three years. I joined my freshmen year as just a photographer, but like any photographer in the Crite I eventually was tasked with writing a story and the rest is history. After two years as Art and Life editor, I became the Editor-in-Chief. Being a part of the Criterion gave me an appreciation for the school and a deeper understanding of all the different communities on campus. Thank you to Crite for giving me a home here at CMU and giving me some of the best friends I have known.
Dane Campbell, Co-Sports Editor & Business Manager
My name is Dane Campbell and I have proudly been involved with The Criterion since Fall 2021. I started as a general staff writer and then served as a Sports Editor and the Business Manager for the past two years. I have had the pleasure of meeting some really great people and sharing their story to a wider audience. My time at The Criterion has shown me the immense amount of knowledge and positive culture at CMU, particularly within our faculty and student population. After I graduate with my secondary teaching degree in history, I will stay in the area as a full-time teacher and coach through which I strive to bring a beneficial impact to the Grand Valley.
Edwin Francia, Photography Editor
Greetings! My name is Edwin Francia and I have worked at The Crite since my freshman year. I joined the paper as a pretty timid individual, but I joined because I wanted to get out of my comfort zone. I can now say that I am definitely a lot more confident within myself since then, and it’s thanks to the amazing people in this organization. I have had the opportunity to go to fun events, talk to interesting people and build new skills that have got me to where I am today. After I graduate in May, I hope to work as an EMT here in Grand Junction for a few years, and then sometime in the future come back to CMU and become a Paramedic.
Kaydee Lucero, Opinions Editor & Social Media Manager
Hello! I’m Kaydee Lucero and I have worked at The Crite for the last four years in a few different positions. I was the Accuracy Manager, News Editor, Editor-in-Chief and now I run the social media and edit Opinions. I have learned that no matter what others think, you have to speak up about issues that matter. Some people may try to silence you or force you to stop talking about it, but you cannot listen! I have also been able to meet amazing people all over the school and I have been able to tell some inspiring stories of students who never give up. After I graduate in May, I plan to stay in the area for a few more years and work in environmental policy.
Elena Hromadka, Distribution Manager
Hi, my name is Elena Hromadka, I am an Environmental Science major and I have worked for the Criterion for one year as the Distribution Manager. During my time here I’ve learned that you can never underestimate the value of a good pair of shoes. Working for the Criterion has led me to find some of the best friends I’ve made during my time here at CMU. Knowing them now, I can’t imagine life without them. After graduation I plan to stay in the Valley for the foreseeable future and continue to foster the community I have found. I hope to find a job in the conservation realm, particularly working with the future of agriculture and soils.
