No matter what your interests are, there are many different ways to get involved on campus.
Walking onto a college campus your freshman year, you want to find ways to get involved. There are so many different things to do on campus and getting involved is also a great way to meet new people.
Going to sporting events is one of the easy ways to get involved on campus. It also is a fun way to interact with your peers while supporting your school. If you like playing sports but are not a team there are still ways you can be involved.
Colorado Mesa University (CMU) has club sport teams as well as intramural sports that you and a group of friends can go be a part of.
Around campus there are basketball courts, sand volleyball courts and the practice football field where students play pick up games with their friends. A big part of getting involved on campus is interacting with other people and this is a good way to do it as well.
Another way to get involved is through your residence hall if you live on campus. Your RAs usually will put on events for your hall as well as your building. You can also be a part of planning these events by being a part of the resident hall council.
CMU’s program activity council (PAC) also puts on different types of events throughout the year that students can take part in. This includes all the events throughout homecoming week.
The events that you can part in through PAC can be as simple as picking up a succulent on the plaza or as big as hanging out with your friends at the homecoming bonfire.
Becoming a part of a club or organization is a fun way to get involved on campus. There are so many types of clubs to choose from between media organizations and clubs to clubs based on your major.
If you are looking to join a sorority or a fraternity on campus CMU has those for you as well. The school offers two sororities and three fraternities.
There are many more ways to get involved on campus. But the best advice, find something that you enjoy and that you are going to have fun with.
