All five Maverick golfers finished with a score below or even to 154 through two rounds as they ended in second place.
Redshirt freshman Peter Grossenbacher shot a team-high score of 143. He shot two under par in his first round with a score of 70, and he shot 73 in his second round.
Colorado Mesa University’s (CMU) team score of 595 is one shot ahead of Westminster College as they sit in third. Both teams are chasing the Colorado School of Mines as they have a team score of 577.
Redshirt junior Kyle Pearson had the Maverick’s second-highest score on the team posting a score of 150. He shot 79 in his first round, and he dialed it in for his second round as he posted a score of 71 in the second round.
The Mavericks lead the tournament in pars with 109. They were also one of the three teams to post an eagle through day one.
Freshman Yael Chahin is playing as an individual and he posted a score of 153 to finish tied for 23 after day one. Chahin dropped his score one stroke in the second round carding a score of 76.
Redshirt freshmen Ethan Bishop and Bray Lambrecht finished one stroke apart with Bishop on top with a score of 152. Junior Dane Anger carded a score of 154 to round out the Mavericks team of five.
CMU will continue the Mile High Shootout at Todd Creek Golf Club Sept. 15 at 9 A.M.
