Across the street from Colorado Mesa University’s westernmost building, a male Grand Junction High School student received multiple stab wounds in his school’s parking lot Monday morning. The victim has been hospitalized and a GoFundMe has been established to aid in paying his treatment.
“A Grand Junction High School student was violently attacked and stabbed more than seven times by a fellow student on campus during school hours,” April Cain, the organizer of the GoFundMe, said. “I am working on behalf of the victim’s family to help raise contributions from our caring community to help cover unforeseen expenses resulting from this senseless tragedy.”
Cain set $20,000.00 as the fundraiser goal, but the total cost of treatment is not yet known.
“Information is still coming in on accrued costs associated with this senseless tragedy,” Cain said. “I am happy to report the victim has been stabilized and is recovering well.”
According to Cain, the family appreciates all donations, big or small. Click here to support the victim’s GoFundMe.
