On Mar. 4, high school students from all around gathered at Colorado Mesa University for the annual Media Day. The event kicked off with lecture sessions from mass communication professors and students as they shared their expertise and experiences.
Assistant Professor of Mass Communication Elaine Venter presented a session on social media branding, including an exercise at the end for some hands-on experience.
Professor Ken Durham taught photojournalism and students Christina Pellman and Sophia Rodriguez gave their own personalized presentations as well.

The students took a tour of CMU’s campus, mainly the student media, CMU-TV, KMSA, The Criterion and Horizon. A question and answer session followed as student leaders answered inquiries about their organizations.
The event ended with awards for best website, best yearbook, and more.
