Student Life is set to get a new director after former Director of Student Life Shane O’Neill left for a new job in August. So far this year, the position has been temporarily filled by Nate and Janie Robinson.
One of the candidates, Adam Burke, came to Colorado Mesa University to meet with the Associated Student Government and various members of Student Life on Monday.
“I liked the way he spoke,” ASG President Beau Flores said. “I thought he spoke well in his presentation.” According to Flores, he answered the interview questions well and had good ideas.
“We talked about his open door policy,” Criterion Editor in Chief Chris DeLeon said. “That’s kind of important to me to be able to walk over and talk to somebody.”
The other candidate, Dazhon, came to campus on Thursday. According to Flores, he had good qualifications for the position, as well.

Wow. This article was not written well. Typically, first and last names are used when referring to people. Who is Dazhon? Where did he/she (?) come from. Why focus on only one candidate and not both of them?
So far, I’m not impressed with the paper this year under the new editor. Remember, that your audience is wider than just a few students. Parents, faculty, and the community read it to get a sense of what is going on at Mesa. Lots of opinion pieces, lots of sports pieces, not much else.
