After seven years of faithful service to Colorado Mesa University, Coach Kylie Holley will be leaving her position to focus more on her family. She will be temporarily replaced by Personal Trainer Emily Thom.
Holley started working at CMU in 2011 as one of the strength and conditioning coaches in athletics in the recreation center. In 2013 she became the manager of wellness and fitness in the recreation center.
“I have three young little kids at home right now,” Holley said, “I finally have the opportunity to be at home with them and that time is just short-lived.”
Holley had her third child in five years just recently. “I have a four-year-old, a two-year-old and a three-month-old,” she said.
Holley’s last day will be Oct. 9. Shortly after she leaves, CMU will conduct a full job search for a new manager of wellness and fitness by posting on the employment listings on the campus website.
“I have had the privilege of working with Kylie for almost seven years and she will be greatly missed by me and the entire rec center management team,” Maverick Center Director Lynn Wilson said. “We are sad to see her leave, but the Holley household needs her more than us right now.”
“I would love another opportunity here, just because I love the feeling of working on a college campus,” Holley said.
“I’m sad to see her go,” Thom said. “She was a great manager, but I’m excited for her at the same time.”
