Since 2010, CMU has partnered with the International Student Exchange Program, or ISEP, a program that allows students to experience living in a completely different country from their own. Through ISEP, you can sign up for different student exchange programs.
The deadline for signing up for the spring exchange is Sept. 1, while the deadline for the fall exchange is Feb. 15.
There are a few eligibility requirements you need to adhere to before you can apply. First of all, you must be currently enrolled full-time at CMU. Second, you need a minimum of a 2.75 GPA. For some programs you will even need a 3.0 or higher. Third, you must have completed at least two semesters of university coursework, meaning a minimum of 24 credits, though some programs require junior standing.
Through ISEP there are two different programs available; ISEP Exchange and ISEP Direct.
With ISEP Exchange you will pay your home university a certain fee based on the regular costs of attending and living there. Also, there will be limited chances of placement at the available universities.
ISEP Direct however guarantees a spot at your favorite institution, as long as you meet their minimum requirements, and has more flexible housing and meal packages, as well as later deadlines.
