Elections are coming up for Associated Student Government seats at Colorado Mesa University. Here are the candidates that currently stand for the 2018 elections. Online elections will begin April 11th at 12 a.m. and end April 13th at 5 p.m. It is very important for CMU students to vote, because their student fees will be paying for every ASG position and what ASG decides to spend money on.
President and Vice President candidates:
Beau Flores for president and Jeff Vela for vice president.
Nicole Troester for president and Donovan Harwell for vice president.
Student Trustee (1): Pua Utu and Amara Hobbs.
At Large Senator (2): Jay Shearrow, Colton Rupple and Micheal Ritter.
Graduate Senator (1): Lauren Mason.
Art and Design Senator (1): Susannah Labonde.
Biological Sciences Senator (1): Makayla Wilcox and Joseph Rayas.
Business Senator (2): Jarrot Brown, John Nachtsheim and Josiah Bohrer.
Computer, Science, Math and Stats Senator (1): Daniel Powell.
Engineering Senator (1): Unfilled
Health and Sciences Senator (2): Kaleia San Miguel. The 2nd candidate is unfilled.
Kinesiology Senator (2): Danielle Beacham-Herrera, Haley Wiedeman and Salina Edwards.
Language, Literature and Mass Communication Senator (1): Celeste Martinez and Jacqueline Halm.
Music Senator (1): Adrianna Garcia.
Physical Sciences Senator (1): Abraham Selenke, Shelby Cerise, and Tyler Pavlovsky.
Social and Behavior Senator (2): Brittany Dixon, Erica Pacheco and Ramiro Vasquez.
Teacher Education Senator (1): Hector Salas and Brittney Moschetti.
Theatre Senator (1): Alexandra Wagner.
Campus Resident Senator (1): Catherine Brodie and Dillion Paningsoro.
Freshman Senator (1): Arie Wick and Faith Wood.
Minority Senator (1): Mikayla Brewer and Aaron Reed
Montrose Campus Senator (1): Danielle Scouden, but she hasn’t met with ECC.
Disabled Students Senator (1): Ryan Stahl.
Western Colorado Community College Senator (1): Cole Sundermann.
According to current ASG President Ben Linzey, the upcoming elections are to be some of the most contested in CMU’s recent history.
