Your week on campus (1/22-1/28)

Getting involved with happenings on campus

794

Heads up, what events are going on this week on the Colorado Mesa University campus?

What you need to participate in this week:

Mavericks, this week students have a chance to do a little bit of everything. Like donating blood. There will be a blood drive on Tuesday in the plaza from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Every semester there is a blood drive and students step up to give to those in need. Let’s see how much blood we can donate this semester.

Fun for the campus

There are a few events that are unique this week. First is a photo booth that will be in the University Center on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. hosted by PAC. Then there is the grand opening of Confluence Hall that is also happening on Wednesday. This grand opening will include a ribbon cutting ceremony out front of the building. A club fair will be hosted in the UC Ballroom on Tuesday. There will also be a performance, Oddly Appropriate which is an improv comedy at the Point Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Sports fanatics come cheer on the CMU teams

Now for all those looking for the sporting events to go to, basketball will be playing on both Friday and Saturday this week. On Friday both Men’s and Women’s teams will play against Black Hills State. Women’s will play at 5:30 p.m. and Men’s at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday the teams will go up against South Dakota Mines at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The Club Nordic Skiing will be close to home up at Grand Mesa this weekend. They are hosting an invite and this also works with the Mavericks take over the Mountain. Club Nordic Skiing will be up in the Grand Mesa both Saturday and Sunday.

Mavs take over the Mountain will be on Saturday. The price of tickets for students is still up in the air due to an unknown amount of snow. There will be games and prizes and other events going on during this time and students will also be able to check out the ski club.

It’s adventure time

Ouray Ice Climbing adventure is also this Saturday and Sunday. The Outdoor Program will do another trip to Ouray. Don’t forget to visit the pool on Monday night from 7-9 p.m. for the free kayak rolling sessions provided by the OP. These trainings will help those who want to participate in the upcoming spring trips.

One reminder! Don’t forget that Tuesday is the last day to add or drop a first module class!
