Games, concerts, events, oh my! Spring semester has taken off with a Winter Welcome week full of events. Now, looking forward to the rest of the semester calendar, there are several different opportunities for students to find their interests and show school spirit. Between PAC, the outdoor program, theater, music, arts and athletics, there is plenty to join in on. Find the events that fit you. 

This semester students have activities like weekday events and the spring concert to look forward to. Things for all students to get involved in are:

For students who want to hear sweet melodies, the music department has several events. They have concerts, guest artists and faculty that will present the students and the community with sound.

The theater arts department is coming in full swing. Check out their performances in 2018.

The last of the theater students’ performances will be a cabaret series at Charlie Dwellingtons on May 5. There is the semiannual spring into dance concert that has a combination of faculty, student, and guest artist work on April 20 and 21. The spring performance of Naked Soles that is purely student pieces will happen in May.

17For the winter season, the OP has Ouray Ice Climbing adventures Jan. 27-28, Feb. 3-4 and Feb. 10-11 

18Another popular winter season outing is the XC Ski during full and new moons in Grand Mesa. Jan. 31, Feb. 4, Feb. 14 and Feb. 28.

24Getting into the warmer months brings different types of outings. Rock climbing is a popular trip with trips on March 3, April 7-8 and April 14.

25During spring break the OP has three trips: Cataract rafting in Cataract, rock climbing in Shelf Road and a national park tour in Yellowstone/Jackson.

The OP program as has free Kayak Roll Sessions at the pool on Monday nights from 7-9 p.m. They also have free shuttles to Powderhorn Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 12:30 p.m. until the end of the first MOD. There are Tuesday and Thursday outings at 2 p.m. that vary during the second MOD. Wednesdays are climbing nights at 5 p.m. to GVC. Friday is disc golf outings that leave the OP at 2 p.m. 

There are also chances for students and community to go downtown and view student’s artwork

There are four exhibits during the spring semester that will feature the work of BFA Studio Art seniors. There are also receptions in the gallery that will have complimentary hors-d’oeuvres and local wine and beer available for purchase. Reception dates will be at the 437CO, the downtown gallery. 

The dates are Feb. 2, March 2, April 6, and May 4. 

Students that love a rush, sports 2018 has several home games with both winter and spring sports going on.
