Colorado Mesa University’s Programming Activities Council announced that Lil Yachty will be performing at this year’s spring concert. The concert will be April 28 and tickets will be free for CMU students and $25 for community tickets. PAC made their announcement on their Facebook page.

PAC chose the artist in February and picked the date, but they didn’t want to confirm it was Lil Yachty until the contract was finalized. Last year’s concert was American Authors and 888.

CMU Student Life is delaying the release of the contract for unknown reasons.

Their first choice and original contract last year was X Ambassadors but the contract dropped last minute. “Last year’s concert, we admit wasn’t our strongest.” PAC Chair Mel DiMinno said.

Last year, 1,262 students attended the fall concert, roughly 13 percent of the student body, according to numbers provided by CMU Student Life in October.

The event in itself costs nearly half of PAC’s budget, $87,694 of $204,443.
