Fourth place finish for women’s golf

The Colorado Mesa University women’s golf team wrapped up their fall season at the Dixie State Invitational in Hurricane, Utah. The Mavericks had another solid team finish, finishing in fourth place.

The Mavericks carded (310) in the first round and then (309) in the second to finish 43-over (619).

Ashlyn Kirschner performed well. Kirschner finished the first round in second place, shooting one-under par (71), then struggled in the second round with a five-over par (77). Kirschner finished the tournament four-over par for a third place finish.

Megan Liborio didn’t finish far behind. Liborio shot seven-over par (79) in the first round, then had improvements in the second round with a four-over par (76) round. Liborio moved up 10 places from the first to second round of competition, finishing in a tie for 11 place.

Heather Kroll finished in a tie for 15th place. Kroll shot five-over par (77) in the first round, then eight-over par (80) in the second round to finish at 13-over par.

Naomi Yamada struggled in the first round with a 17-over par first round, but bounced back in the second round shooting four-over par (76) to finish at 21-over par in a tie for 35 place.

Randi Kim struggled in both rounds shooting 11-over par (83) in the first round and 12-over par (84) in the second round in a tie for 41 place.

Dixie State took the tournament (+34) with a team score of 610.
