There are few things exciting enough to summon students from the sweet embrace of their beds early in the morning. For morning-challenged night owls, sometimes not even the education we spend all of our money on is enough of an incentive to venture out into the world. Only one item has the power to attract any college student out of their slumber and into the world anytime, for any reason: food. For those who have a hard time getting up in the morning and getting to class on time, Flapjack Fridays are the perfect motivation to get out of bed. For breakfast lovers, pancakes are the perfect Programing Activity Council (PAC) sponsored way to start any day. As the savory scent of Flapjacks galore fills the UC, you can enjoy a hearty breakfast doused with copious amounts of butter and syrup free of charge. Let’s say it one more time: FREE OF CHARGE. Not only are students served delicious golden brown pancakes, but they also get the chance to know the wonderful members of PAC and experience the fruits of their labor in the most delectable way.

Regardless of who you are, Flapjack Fridays are a perfect opportunity to break out of your regular breakfast routine and add a social and uniquely college element to your day. Even for students whose busy schedule

makes it hard to attend other school events, Flapjack Fridays are fast, fun, delicious and most importantly- they’re convenient. Located on the first floor of the UC, Flapjack Fridays are an easy place to stop by on your way to class. Every last Friday of each month from 9 to 11.

“It’s making a positive impact on the experience of the students, and it helps create a more welcoming atmosphere” Stavan Vanscoy said, a retuning PAC member who was one of the friendly faces serving pancakes on Friday Morning.

“We do it every last Friday of the month and it’s just a fun event for students to enjoy some free pancakes. Who doesn’t love pancakes?

As with all other school sponsored events, part of the purpose of Flapjack Fridays is to encourage students to come out and enjoy something they like in the company of others, making it the perfect place to make some fellow breakfast- loving friends. Going to a fun event with friends or leaving having made some new ones is one of the most rewarding aspects of being involved as a student and Flapjack Fridays are just one more way to do that. So whether you’re just having a hard time getting out of bed in the mornings or an avid lover of breakfast, once a month PAC has just the thing for you. So come as you are and leave happy because there’s nothing quite like Flapjack Fridays.
