CMU made a shocking announcement in mid-March, where they announced that Walter White, also known as Heisenberg, an exceptionally skilled chemist and drug lord, will be teaching certain chemistry courses on campus during the fall semester.

He will be teaching CHEM 422 and CHEM 431. In a personal statement to the students, he said, “I am very excited to be teaching chemistry in the fall semester. Understanding chemistry is very important, because we need to understand the materials that make up our planet and how to properly use them. I also will be looking for students that will be interested in a special project, coming spring semester 2024. I’m looking forward to meeting you all.”

Since this announcement, there has been a divide amongst students. A lot of students are outraged and disgusted that our school would allow a drug lord to teach chemistry and recruit students for his special project. Students are worried that this will promote the production and selling of meth here at CMU. There is worry that the school could become a major distribution center for meth and other substances. This also would impact students safety on campus.

The students in support of Walter White teaching here in the fall semester think that he will bring a positive effect to students. With his background and experience in chemistry and business, students believe that he will be a role model for students and will offer guidance into their field of choice. With the drug business Walter White owns, most students will have potential job opportunities after obtaining their degree. Students will also be able to make a minimum starting salary of $160,000 yearly working for Heisenberg.

Despite the outrage amongst students, staff members believe that Heisenberg will bring positive change and help promote growth within students. The staff are very excited to welcome a new professor to our campus. Some have even suggested that he should be teaching in other departments also, such as business and nursing. For anyone that wants to take his courses and have the required prerequisites, registration opens on April 20.
